Welcome

AURIGA Astronomy & the AURIGA Star Dome - A TOTALLY Professional Service.

The North & Midlands No1 Mobile Planetarium For Schools, Museums  Public Events & Corporate Hire.

We also perform lectures or talks with or without the dome depending on your requirements.

In addition to our Planetarium activities we can provide evening star gazing sessions (British weather permitting) or after school club activities.

We DO NOT specialise in any type of school or group... We provide shows that cater for the entire curriculum from KS1 to A level. And we ensure that each is delivered at the level appropriate for the audience. Most of our shows are updated at least annually, and as our knowledge increases.

We believe we offer the widest range of shows of ANY mobile planetarium operating in the UK, we currently have over 60 shows available, and new ones are being added all the time.

Our Presenter Dave is Vice-President of the Association for Astronomy Education. He is also acting as a paid consultant to the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority in regards of their exciting new outreach project on Fusion. We are also an affiliated organisation to the NASA museums program, Saturn observation campaign and Sun-Earth connection outreach projects.

I can directly attribute the annual visits of Dave and the AURIGA Star Dome at our school, to the increase in our successful exam Results, and would highly recommend AURIGA Astronomy to ANY school.

Our Museum Shows are specifically written in consultation with the individual client, to ensure the audience sees a 'brand new show' rather than a re-hash of an existing show!

Our Schools Dome has a 'black lit' entrance tunnel to ensure the experience starts the moment the student enters the dome (this is popular with ALL ages from 4 to 18), whereas our Public Dome is designed to look like a spaceship and entrance is gained without crawling. We can also cater for wheelchairs and the disabled provided we know the requirements in advance.

The majority of our shows are Audio Visual and running commentary is given by our expert presenter, who is not only an active astronomer, Setpoint Science Ambassador, Astronomy writer, and astronomy advisor to various organisations, but has recently been appointed to the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Fusion Research Centre (Culham Division), Education Dept as an outreach consultant.
